Peak Innovations is a nonprofit organization advancing climbing, mountaineering, and backcountry skiing through innovative projects and guided experiences.
Our Role
We serve as an innovation and learning hub—designing, testing, and supporting ideas that improve safety, sustainability, and access in mountain environments. Some of the work we take on doesn't yet fit traditional industry business models, but it addresses real needs in our communities and has the potential to shape the future of mountain sports.
Our Work
Through guided trips, hands-on education, field testing, and ongoing research and development, we bring ideas out of theory and into real terrain. Our approach blends lived experience, technical expertise, and creative problem-solving to support projects that strengthen both people and the places we play.

By sharing overhead costs across multiple initiatives, we streamline expenses related to insurance, permitting, and project management, allowing each project to contribute minimally while benefiting from centralized support.
Community-Led Initiatives
We prioritize grassroots projects through community input. Our platform enables members to pitch ideas, review initiatives, and support projects through volunteering or donations, ensuring our resources are focused on high-impact endeavors.

Nadav Oakes
Nadav brings a wealth of expertise and passion for the vertical world to Peak Innovations. With certifications as an IFMGA and AMGA Mountain Guide, combined with a background in mechanical engineering, he applies a first principles approach to identifying problems and developing practical solutions for the climbing and mountaineering community.
Born and raised in Israel, Nadav honed his skills guiding climbing, mountaineering, and canyoneering before transitioning to the US. His global climbing portfolio spans the Middle East, Europe, Africa, Asia, and North America. As both an inventor and guide, he designs and tests gear innovations in the field, bringing real-world experience to every product and educational initiative. Based in Bozeman, Montana, Nadav is available for guiding work locally and internationally.
